The past few weeks have been busy for me! With lots of vacationers visiting San Diego, not to mention the many 80 plus degree days we have been having, I have had the pleasure of intoducing many new individuals to fishing Southern California waters the past few weeks for guide trips. With the warming weather, the bite has steadily been improving. Fish are begining to chase bait, and the topwater bite is improving weekly. For those looking to improve their topwater skills, now through August is the time to head to the lake. Local night tournaments have started, and the first tournament kicked out many large fish. I had a 7.98lb post spawn female, and there were five other fish weighed in larger than it, ranging up to 8.60lbs. If anyone is looking to get out on the lake for a day, now is a great time! I look forward to many more great trips to come this season!
